Darren T. Kimura runs a company called Energy Industries, which specializes in providing solutions for efficient and renewable sources of energy. On the age of 35, Darren is already heading up a million dollar business that captures the imagination of eco-conscious people all around the world. Although the buzz on green revolution has gained momentum now, when Darren started his efforts a decade ago, there were no takers. He was ridiculed and deemed crazy for his insight on eco-friendly energy practices.

During the fifteen years that his company has been in operation, it has earned millions by helping a variety of industrial and commercial clients immensely cut their consumption of energy. Darren’s company has clients primarily in the Northwest right now, but he has plans of expanding his operations throughout the country. He also has plans of expanding his business overseas to Europe and Asia as well. Darren says, “Energy conservation is one of the very few things that you can do in every part of this world.” He therefore feels that there is immense growth potential for his business worldwide.

As a teenager, Darren was hooked to his surfboard and wore earrings as a fashion trend. But when it was time for him to start his business, he relinquished his youthful passions and took on a more professional attitude. He first learned to speak like a businessperson. For the initial seven years of his business, he could not get finances and so had to use credit cards to finance his company. To supplement his income, he even sold his women’s shoes. Living from day to day on a tight budget taught him the value of financial planning and budget control. All this experience eventually helped him to build a robust and stable business in the long run.

Darren says that his lifelong passion for learning has helped him immensely in all walks of life. He also attributes the success of his company to his ability to work hard from early in the morning to late at night. He also had to hold onto his idea of energy conservation when everyone else thought that he was crazy. His strong convictions in his belief and his hard work have eventually paid off in the form of a tremendously successful business that has further potential for limitless growth. Darren advices other entrepreneurs to focus on learning as much as possible all of the time, in order to be able to create and run a business successfully.
