Catherine Cook is one of the Co-Founders of myYearbook – a website, offering you the opportunity to make new friends and find new contacts from all around the world. Up to this date more than 20 million people from different nationalities and ages have been registered. The website is founded in 2005 and today is a million dollar business, which is the main reason why Catherine got listed in the “Top 20 Young Internet Entrepreneurs under 21”. Catherine was only 15 years old, when she, together with her older brother Dave, came up with the idea of creating an Internet-based yearbook. After convincing their older brother Geoff, who by the way is a very successful Web Entrepreneur, to invest $250 000, the start was given. The year was 2005; a new social website was born.

Three years later, thanks to the signed partnership with Arkadium, Flash based games were added to the website.

In the course of the next years a couple of other extras were launched, such as the Meebo instant messaging and Chatter in 2009, and an iPhone/iPod Touch and Android application designed to bring the Chatter real time feed to mobile devices.

Catherine Cook has a big contribution to the development of website’s applications, such as Battles and Causes. She is totally dedicated to the idea of turning myYearbook into a place, where you could find people with similar interests, people from your region and age. Many even find their life partner and fall in love.

Today myYearbook’s users are taking a big part in the website’s development. "Our site is specifically for high school students, and we really listen to the suggestions of our members," says Catherine Cook.

She has become a self-made millionaire and is happy with the success her company reached. Today her company employs more than 70 people and owns one of the world's most popular websites for dates and acquaintances.
